| Appearance; Zuko is as tall as you can expect from the average sixteen-year-old, possessing the regular features of any other human being. His skin tone is not at all any dark in any way, and not at all too pale either, but light enough. Zuko's hair is fairly long by male standards. It is also black in color, often shining a dark brown under certain lights; especially sunlight. His current clothing of choice consists of a Fire Nation garb often worn beneath the princely robe he donned during his return to his initial home. You can say that one of Zuko's more defining traits is the scar on the left side of his head, delivered via immolation by the firebending hands of his father: Fire Lord Ozai. Personality; More bitter and antagonistic, than truly evil. As throughout the majority of the series, all he's ever actually wanted was the recognition and acceptance granted to him by his own father, as well as regaining his place as heir to the throne. In order to do so, Zuko believed the capture of the Avatar would result in that honor he had longed for. He would proceed with attempts at finding and capturing the Avatar, almost unhindered by anything placed against him, due to an iron determination. During his time as an antagonist, Zuko believed that becoming stronger required struggle and conflict for one's own goals, not needing any luck along the way so he could pave his own path in fate. Throughout the many discouraging events of his life, Zuko has developed an almost invincible desire to achieve his lifelong goals. The nature of a specific situation often . At one point, he can be that impatient and embittered individual who reacts aggressively, expecting his peers to get things done. At another point he may show signs of compassion and self-sacrifice for the sake of his comrades. After joining the "Gaang" and finally becoming a protagonist, he still displays those traits, toning down the more negative aspects of his behavior in order to get along. He still incorporates a degree of aggression into his firebending teachings towards Aang, "attacking" Aang to teach him a lesson, should he ever start slacking off. And while initially relying on rage and anger to fuel his firebending, a more calm mental state in battle has replaced the former to follow the teachings of the Firebending Masters, thus improving in personality and skill. |
| Abilities/Strengths; Zuko's most prominent ability is his firebending: an ancient martial art first discovered by the dragons, then practiced by those from the Fire Nation; it serves similar purposes to pyrokinesis. With it he can manipulate fire at the presence of any heat source, including central body heat. Ceasing his inner turmoil near the end of the series, Zuko learned of how to redirect lightning, yet it remains unclear as to whether or not he can bend lightning. Zuko is also skilled in combat via dual Dao Blades, having mastered the art off screen. With his proficiency in swordplay, temporarily losing his bending would not render Zuko less formidable of an opponent. Weaknesses; As Zuko is quick to anger, violent outbursts can be expected. Often Zuko acts before he thinks; fighting now, strategic planning later. At times he can be impudent and brash, not at all paying due respect to those who deserve it. As stated earlier, these traits have somewhat toned down as Zuko finally joined the likes of Aang and company. Notable Possessions; Those two dao swords of his. Sheath included. |
